Words for Wellbeing uses found text, poetry and simple creative prompts to support reflection, emotional expression and connection. Rather than starting with a blank page, participants work with existing words taken from books, leaflets, newspapers or other texts. This removes pressure and allows meaning to emerge naturally. The focus is on process, choice and curiosity, not on producing perfect writing.
Words for Wellbeing also runs as a monthly, in-person workshop at St Faith’s Hub.
Like Mindful Art in the Park, these sessions offer a calm, welcoming space to slow down and explore creativity without pressure. Instead of visual art, the focus here is on words.
Sessions use Black Out Poetry, found text and gentle word-based prompts to support reflection and expression in a way that feels accessible and safe. There is no expectation to write from scratch, talk in a group, or share personal experiences.
You can sit quietly, take your time, and engage at your own pace.
Each session typically includes:
No writing experience is needed. These workshops are suitable for adults who may feel unsure about writing, find traditional discussion difficult, or simply want a slower, more thoughtful way to work with words.
A £2 suggested donation is requested to help cover refreshments and support the ongoing upkeep of the hub.
Mindful Art in the Park is a gentle, accessible creative wellbeing session designed to support relaxation, reflection and connection.
Sessions are held weekly during term time, thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.
📍 Location: The Greenhouse, Victoria Park
🕰 When: Wednesdays (term time)11:30am – 1:30pm
💛 Cost: Free, drop-in
Sessions take place inside the Greenhouse. In good weather, some activities may move outdoors into the surrounding park area.
Sessions focus on the process of creating rather than the finished artwork. Using simple materials and optional prompts, participants are invited to slow down, notice the present moment, and engage creatively in a way that feels comfortable for them.
You can try a guided activity, or work freely with the materials provided, or bring something of your own.
Think Big Do Bigger CIC was born from a journey of creativity, challenge, and rediscovery.
Our founder, Charli Streete, first trained and worked in theatre before returning to university and later spending a decade in homelessness and mental health services. Supporting people through some of the toughest moments in their lives was powerful and important work, but it also came at a personal cost. Experiencing burnout became a turning point, forcing Charli to pause and re-examine how to care for her own wellbeing while still making space for connection and change.
That’s when she reconnected with creativity, something she had lost along the way. Through mindful art and blackout poetry, she discovered not just tools for her own reflection, but powerful mechanisms for helping others reach inner thoughts and emotions, open up difficult conversations, and engage people who often face barriers.
What began as a personal rediscovery soon grew into community workshops, and eventually into Think Big Do Bigger CIC. A space where creativity, reflection, and co-production meet.
Today, we deliver creative projects, reflective practice, and wellbeing programmes across communities and workplaces. From art workshops in parks, to heritage projects co-produced with local residents, to reflective sessions with frontline staff.
Every strand of our work is shaped by five values:
Our journey began with burnout. But it has grown into a commitment: to create spaces where others can rediscover their voices, explore creativity, and transform challenge into possibility.
Think Big Do Bigger is about making that change. One poem, one workshop, one community at a time.
